Privacy
Our office respects the privacy of our applicants. Under university policy and provincial law we are not allowed to disclose information about an applicant or their application to anybody but the applicant. The exception to this is if we have the written permission of the applicant to discuss their file with a third party. When an applicant calls into our office they will be asked to provide their applicant ID and answer a few questions to ensure we are talking to the applicant.
Residence Profile Form
Just a reminder that the Residence Profile Form (RPF) must be submitted by March 31st. You only need to submit the RPF if you indicated on your application at the Ontario University Application Centre (OUAC) that you were interested in residence. Please note that if you submit your RPF after March 31st you may no longer be eligible for the University’s residence guarantee for first year students.
March
March is a very busy month in our office. We continue to review files from non Ontario applicants. As decisions are made on these applicants a response is mailed out. Please ensure that your address is properly listed on the OUAC website including postal code and postal office box if applicable. For non Ontario applicants if we received your completed files by March 1st we guarantee you will receive a response from our office by the end of April.
March is also the month that we send out a large number of offers to Ontario students. Any student who receives an offer in this round of admissions should receive it by the end of the month. If you do not receive an offer please do not panic. All students who did not receive a decision in March will receive a decision in May. If you did not receive a decision in the month of March it likely due to one of two main reasons: Your Student Profile Form (SPF) was not completed in full or we did not have enough information at this point to make a decision.
Please be sure to check the portal on a regular basis to see if our office has requested any further documents from you. We may request items such as transcripts from the schools you have attended or other documents based on the information you have disclosed on your profile. We request these documents so we can properly assess your file and ensure that we are treating each applicant fairly in the admissions process.
The Engineering Admissions Office can receive up to 200 emails per day. Unfortunately, we do no not have the resources to answer each email on the day it is received. Our average response time is five to ten business days. To help us respond to the emails we receive quicker please keep these tips in mind:
- Before you send your email please check the Engineering Applicant Guide that was mailed to you or our website. These resources contain the answers to most common questions we receive
- Please include your applicant number in each email that you send to us, this will help us retrieve your admissions file quickly when we are responding to your specific questions
- Emails are answered in the order they are received, please do not resend your email. We will get to your email as soon as possible.
- If you have an urgent inquiry please call us at 416-978-0120
Following these steps will allow us to improve our response times to your questions.
