Myth Busters: Engineers are not well rounded
Truth: Our engineers are extremely well rounded. They participate in a variety of activities both on campus and off, some related to engineering and many completely unrelated!
For example Jeffrey Buttle, a recent Chemical Engineering student at U of T is also a three-time Canadian figure skating champion. We have a number of our male and female students playing on Varsity sports teams every year as well. Also, Isabel Bayrakdarian 9T7 EngSci won first prize in the 2000 Operalia competition founded by Plácido Domingo, and now regularly performs opera around the world.
Our engineers are involved in everything from music and art, to sports and drama, and their interests don’t end there. Not well rounded? Not here!
