Student Services Profile: Accessibility Services

What is Accessibility Services?
The mission of Accessibility Services is to facilitate the inclusion of students with disabilities into all aspects of university life. They focus on helping students develop skills that will help them integrate into school life and succeed academically.

The services are provided to students with a documented disability. This can include a physical, sensory, or learning disability. In addition, there is consideration for mental health disorders or temporary disabilities (e.g. a broken arm).

Accessibility Services include: – alternative test & examination arrangements – note-taking services – sign language interpreters – on-campus transportation (St. George Campus only) – alternative format for printed materials – information & resource materials on health conditions & disability related issues

How to Register:
To register with Accessibility Services, students must discuss their needs during an intake interview. Where appropriate, students are referred to one of the Service’s professionals to discuss strategies and determine accommodations.

Where is Accessibility Services located?
Accessibility Services is located in Robarts Library, at 130 St. George St., on the 1st floor. If you have a documented disability, you are encouraged to register with Accessibility Services as early as possible, preferably before classes start.
