Myth Busters: All you do as an engineering student is study math and science.

good to know

FACT: While a large part of the engineering curriculum is math and science, engineers still study many other subjects. Communication is a huge part of engineering education, so you will have many opportunities to use your writing skills while you’re here. If writing isn’t your favorite subject don’t worry, we have an Engineering Communication Centre to make sure that your writing skills are up to par.

Also part of your engineering education is taking electives from the Faculty of Arts and Science where you will have a variety of non math and science topics to choose from.

For those of you with interests in other subject areas, you can also take a minor in an Arts & Science discipline—anything from Film Studies to a language like French or Yiddish! At the University of Toronto, there’s no limit to what you can learn!
