MYTH: "Engineering is a really competitive program."

good to know

FACT: While engineering is a challenging program, it does not have a competitive atmosphere.

In fact, students often rely on each other to get through homework or study sessions. Your classes promote group work. One of the great things about engineering is that you are in a professional program from day one of your university education, but there is none of the competitiveness that often accompanies other professional programs like medical school or pharmacy. Your classmates are your best resource—so you can certainly lean on each other for support throughout the year.
