Getting Involved: Departmental Clubs

departmental clubs

One of the best parts of university life is getting to meet all sorts of new people. Of course come September, you’ll be spending a lot of time with your classmates. Sure, you’ll have friends in different disciplines … but your “family” at school often becomes the people in your program.

Departmental Clubs are a great way to get to know students in all years of your program outside of the classroom. Most clubs have a president, vice-president, treasurer, activities coordinator, and class representatives from each year. Each club is responsible for organizing events throughout the year for students within that program to enjoy.

For example, each club puts on a dinner/dance in the fall, which is a great opportunity for you to get dressed up and hang out with your classmates in a non-academic setting! Clubs also host things like BBQs, book swaps and movie nights.

For more information on how to get involved, visit the U of T Engineering Society website at www.skule.ca.

Keep your eyes and ears open to find out what your club is up to in September!
