Leaders of Tomorrow
Our Vision: An Engineering Education that provides a life-long foundation for transformational leaders and outstanding citizens.
What is Leaders of Tomorrow?
As a student at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Applied Sciences and Engineering, you will receive more than an outstanding technical education. You will have opportunities to develop yourself as a person and as a leader. Leaders of Tomorrow is the only leadership development initiative in Canada specifically for engineers. We recognize that engineers have an important role to play in society and that this takes more than technical skill—it also takes leadership.
We believe that leadership can be learned and therefore can be taught. Everyone can and should be a leader! Through training events, workshops, retreats and course content, students are offered opportunities to enhance their personal impact by learning how to develop and manage teams, how to successfully handle conflict, and how to recognize, and intentionally expand their natural leadership abilities.
Who is Leaders of Tomorrow for?
Leaders of Tomorrow offers something for everyone. Leaders of Tomorrow is for you if:
• You would like to use your engineering education to create positive change in the world.
• You’re thinking ahead to your success as a professional, and aspire to be a leader in business.
• You would like to join an inspiring community of students, staff and faculty.
Why should you care?
University is a time of great learning and growth. As a result of your engineering education you will develop outstanding technical expertise. Leaders of Tomorrow will support you to combine your technical competence and innovative ideas, with the leadership skills required for turning those ideas into action and for transforming the world.
