To Do List #1
1. Read the Welcome Guide & The Guide to First Year
We included a resource called Welcome Guide in your offer package. This resource is your first step in getting to know about life at U of T Engineering. Be sure to read through it, and let us know if you have any questions. Also, be sure to check out the Guide to First Year (available electronically on Discover Engineering), which will walk you through your First Year of engineering, step-by-step. A hard-copy of the Guide to First Year will be mailed to you by the end of June.
2. Check your email for Residence news
If you have requested residence accommodations for First Year, be sure to check your email often for updates. Residence information will be emailed directly to you from the residence giving the offer. If you have any questions about residence, you can contact Student Housing Services at housing.services@utoronto.ca.
3. Login to our online Student Information System (ROSI): www.rosi.utoronto.ca
We recommend that you login to your ROSI account as soon as possible to verify your personal information. Be sure that both your mailing address and email address are listed correctly. In August you will be able to see your course timetable on ROSI as well. Don’t worry, you don’t need to enroll in your classes, the Faculty will do this for you! For more information on ROSI, please see page 7 of the Guide to First Year.
4. Sign up for First Year Foundations
First Year Foundation programs are designed to help you prepare for September, by easing the transition between high school and university. We are now accepting registrations for all of our summer programs. To find out more about the First Year Foundation courses, please visit www.undergrad.engineering.utoronto.ca/support/1styear.
You can also download a copy of the First Year Foundations Brochure on the Discover Engineering website.
5. Apply for Your Study Permit (International Students)
Any student planning to study at the post-secondary level in Canada who is not a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident must obtain a valid study permit before entering Canada. It is recommended that you begin this process as soon as possible. Students currently holding secondary school study permits within Canada are reminded that they will be required to apply for a valid post-secondary permit. Study permit information is available online through Citizenship and Immigration Canada: www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/study-how.asp.
For more information on services and procedures for international students, please visit the International Student Centre (ISC) website: http://www.isc.utoronto.ca/.
